In this episode of Kintinu’d Conversations, Brad Dexter, Claire Thelen, and Tim Benak welcome Arik Matson and his wife, Megan, to the podcast. Arik was nearly killed in the line of duty after responding to a call of a suspicious person on the night of Jan. 6, 2020. He was shot and struck in the head by a bullet that caused irreversible damage to the officer’s skull and part of his brain. Doctors used mesh and 99 screws to repair Arik’s injuries. Since that time, Arik and his family have been on a journey of recovery and discovering what “new normal” is in their lives.
